Have you ever felt
that life is unfair?
Have your prayed and
called out to God and asked Him…
Why the good people
suffer unnecessarily and the evil goes unpunished?
Why do You allow
this?
This is not a new
question.
We can read in the
Bible about Habakkuk, the prophet that lived in the times of deep national
distress.
The Babylonian army
was poised to sweep across the country and destroy everything at its path.
The prophet agreed
with the Lord that the Judah was deserving of His judgment.
But how could Go use
such evil people as His rod of discipline?
Habakkuk cried out to
God and asked:
“Your eyes are too
pure to look on evil; you cannot tolerate wrong. Why then do you tolerate the
treacherous? Why are you silent while the wicked swallow up those more
righteous than themselves?”
Hab. 1:13
Many times we bring
this same prayer to God’s feet.
“Dear God, why do you
let evil people get away with what they are doing? And why you let bad things
to happen to good people? Why is the life so unfair? Let me learn Your ways so
I can understand Your wisdom behind this all. I sincerely do not get it! It
seems so contrary to me. Give me the assurance that everything is going
according to Your plan and show me what I should do. It is hard to not know
everything but allow me to humble myself and accept my place. Let me be guided
by You. Amen.”

series.
Hi Joanna! Your post reminded me of the sermon my past just did this past Sunday. It's quite natural for us to feel overwhelmed with the presence of evil all around us, but it's important to note that our identity lies within God and not anything of this world. God, in the end, is the ultimate Victor! Thanks again. Coming with blessings from the #RaRalinkup
ReplyDeleteThank you for you visit and the blessings, Ashlee! I hope you will be blessed also!
DeleteEvil is so evil. Since the beginning of time. I struggle so much with watching evil around me...it often hides behind beauty. I'm reminded of Romans 3:10 during my deepest wrestling and struggle with evil, "As it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one;" Grace, sweet grace, is our only hope. None of us deserving of His sweet love of us. When I watch wicked seeming to prosper around me, I don't understand, and neither did David. The Psalms are a beautiful place to bury my face and weep, just as David did before the Father. Thank you for your heart and sharing so beautifully!
ReplyDeleteThank you for you comment, Melanie! And The Romans 3:10 is just perfect to all of us and to what happens around us, there just isn't anyone who is righteous, we cannot do it.
DeleteThis is so good and exactly what I was needing to hear. I was literally in tears earlier today over a situation where I held my fist up saying "why God" because the situation was so unfair. So glad I visited from SDG Gathering!
ReplyDeleteSometimes all we can do is weep and cry out. It's good that God hears even that. Thank you for your visit and comment, Laura!
DeleteVisiting you via #RaRaLinkup :) Thank you for prompting us to think and pray on this tough subject today, Joanna! Wise words, Timely post.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your visit and comment!
DeleteMay we always take our questioning to God.
ReplyDeleteThat is so true, Lisa. He is always there, if we just seek Him!
Delete"Give me the assurance that everything is going according to Your plan and show me what I should do." Amen! #RaRaLinkup
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that the post spoke to you, Katy!
