Every Praise Belongs to God - Wednesday Worship

It’s Wednesday today and time to worship the Lord!

Worship is to reverently honor and give homage to God.

It is an adoring reverence that dedicate to God.

Worship is giving God the best that He has given you.

And we should be careful what we do with the best we have.

Whenever we get a blessing from God, we should give it back to Him as a love-gift.

Take time to meditate and pray before God and offer the blessing back to Him in a deliberate act of worship.

Fight The Good Fight - Thoughtful Tuesdays

It is the Thoughtful Tuesday today.

There are many people who have been close to God and have given us good thoughts to meditate on.

God's Word gives us many verses we need to pray about.

Today is dedicated to those thoughts, ideas, verses and words that make us think and make us want to be closer to God.

Here are today's thoughts!

Through the centuries men have displayed many different symbols to show that they are Christians. They have worn crosses in the lapels of their coats, hung chains about their necks, even had special haircuts. Of course, there is nothing intrinsically wrong with any of this, if one feels it is his calling. But there is a much better sign, a universal mark that is to last through all the ages of the church until Jesus comes back…Love- and the unity it attests to- is the mark Christ gave Christians to wear before the world. Only with this mark may the world know that Christians are indeed Christians and that Jesus was sent by the Father.

I Will Praise Your Name For Ever And Ever - Prayer Monday

There are two things that God honors above all else, according to the Bible: His name and His Word.

“I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever… for you have exalted above all things your name and your word” (Ps. 145:1; Ps. 138:2).

When we are to pray, it is good to remember this.

Praying isn’t a one way street.

It isn’t just a chance to tell God what we think.

Or want, or need.

Or who we are.

God already knows all this.

Praying is the opportunity to know what God thinks, wants or needs.

And who God is.

To do this, it’s good to remember that we are to exalt God’s name.

And to praise it.

To remember that He is worthy of your praise, even His name is to be exalted above everything else.

“Dear God, let me exalt Your name! You are worthy of my praise. Your name is above everything else in this world. You alone stand higher than all creation. I praise Your name and Your Word! You are marvelous to my eyes and Your Word is a refuge to my heart. Thank You for allowing me to kneel beside Your feet to exalt You. Amen!”

Are You Ready To Suffer For Christ - Thursday Devotionals

Are you ready to suffer for Christ?

Not just the great suffering and martyr’s death but the little annoyances.

And most of all, the low opinion of the people around you.

The jokes, the rumors and the lies.

The persecution and the prejudice.

“My dear brother, we must not mind a little suffering for Christ’s sake. When I am getting through a hedge, if my head and shoulders are safely through, I can bear the pricking of my legs. Let us rejoice in the remembrance that our holy Head has surmounted all His suffering and triumphed over death. Let us follow Him patiently; we shall soon be partakers of His victory.”

Can you accept the persecution and opposition and slander and misunderstanding?

The disappointment and self-recrimination and weakness.

And danger as the normal portion of faithful life for Christ?

“Be patient in tribulation.”

How to grow downward in humility and upward in adoration of Christ?

How not to yield to the bitterness or to the temptation?

In our disappointments and discouragements as Christians there is a great power for perseverance.

We need inspiration from one another.

We need to keep before us the lives of people who surmounted great obstacles in obedience to God’s call by God’s grace.

“Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

Matthew 5:10

Take time to meditate and pray before God and offer the blessing back to Him in a deliberate act of worship.

Worship is both adoration and veneration of God.

According to St. Thomas Aquinas adoration, which is known as latria in classical theology, is the worship and homage that is rightly offered to God alone.

It is the manifestation of submission, and acknowledgement of dependence, appropriately shown towards the excellence of an uncreated divine person and to his absolute Lordship.

It is the worship of the Creator that God alone deserves.

Veneration is to honor and reverence appropriately due to the excellence.

Venerate the excellence of God and adore Him alone!

We all long for heaven where God is, but we have it in our power to be in heaven with Him right now- to be happy with Him at this very moment.  But being happy with Him now means loving like He loves, helping like He helps, giving as He gives, serving as He serves, rescuing as He rescues, being with Him twenty-four hours a day- touching Him in His distressing disguise.

Faith Comes From Hearing the Message - Prayer Monday

God encourages us to bring our worship and praise, confessions, thanksgivings, intercessions, and petitions before Him, throughout the Bible.

As we pray more and grow in the prayer, it becomes clear that there is always more to learn.

How is it possible to have a more profound prayer life and relationship with God?

Through faith!

And how does one attain faith?

From hearing the message.

“Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.”

Romans 10:17

To be able to pray, to be closer to God, and to know God better, we need to learn His words.

And those can be learnt through the message of Jesus and through His Word, the Bible.

“Dear God, let me hear your message and learn to love it. Allow me to enjoy your Word and hold it always in my heart. Let me hunger and thirst it so that I will continuously draw nearer to You. I want to know You, who You are. I need to hide in your love and be always part of You. Let You and Your Word be the center of my life. Amen!”
