All sin is sacriledge - (Not so) Wordless Wednesday

“We poison the wine as He decants it into us; murder a melody He would play with us as the instrument...Hence all sin, whatever else it is, is sacrilege.”
C.S. Lewis in Letters to Malcolm

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
Galatians 2:20

“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.”

James 5:16

Incomprehensible and Immutable Love - October 27th

Incomprehensible and immutable is the love of God. For it was not after we were reconciled to Him by the blood of His Son that He began to love us, but He loved us before the foundation of the world, that with His only begotten Son we too might be sons of God before we were anything at all.
Augustine of Hippo

God loved us before the world came to be.

Before He created the world or made the first human.

He loved us and found us precious.

We have nothing to offer.

Nothing of value.

Nothing we can do.

Nothing at all.

Because He is love and the love is in Him.

We cannot comprehend it.

It is beyond our ability to understand.

How much He loves us.

Not because we love Him.

Not because we try to do good.

Not because we serve Him.

But because He loves us.

And He is all that we need.

Footprints In The Heart - October 24th

- Friendship -

Some people come into our lives and leave footprints on our hearts and we are never ever the same.

Flavia Weedn

Who has left their footprints in your heart?

Have you even touched by the bird's steps?

Tiny, silent and delicate to your soul.

Was your heart stamped by heavy boots?

Are their prints still visible in the blood their poured?

Have the steps of a child been burned into you?

So you will never forget.

Has the feathery touch of love left its heavy print?

Unforgettable, inconfundible.

God is Faithfull - (Not So) Wordless Wednesday

“[The natural life] knows that if the spiritual life gets hold of it, all its self-centredness and self-will are going to be killed and it is ready to fight tooth and nail to avoid that.”

C.S. Lewis in Mere Christianity

“No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.”
1 Corinthians 10:13

What Is Your Destiny - October 21st

Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.
Lao-Tze

We build ourselves everyday.

And we become what we ourselves deem.

Our thoughts are a prophesy of who we will be.

What I think, I will say.

Only with control of my mind I can learn to control my thoughts.

The words what I say, will become what I will do.

Controlling my mouth, what I speak I can learn to control what I do.

The things that I do are who I will be in future.

My actions, are the fortune telling of the habits that I form.

When I control my actions, will I control the habits that I will develop.

My habits are who I am.

The character that I show to the world.

The personality that people around me perceive.

By controlling my habits I mold my character and become the person I want to be.

My character is my destiny.

When I grow old, I just become more who I am.

I will be overcome by my own character.

By controlling it, I can control who I will be.

Do not let your thoughts to be your destiny.

The Pieces Will Feed A Multitude - October 20th

If my life is broken when given to Jesus, it is because pieces will feed a multitude, while a loaf will satisfy only a little lad.
Ruth Stull

I am a broken bone.

Healed and grown wrong.

Not like I should be anymore.

Missing pieces of me.

With a hole in my soul.

Bleeding to the air.

It is a painful moment.

When I'm finally healed.

Broken again, so I can mend true.

Straightened and put right.

To be filled with love, holiness and truth.

Thinned out, so that the light can shine further away.

And fill the blind eyes all around me.

Silent Gratitude - October 17th

- Thank you! -

Silent gratitude isn't much use to anyone.
~ Gladys B. Stern

It is good to be grateful.

A true blessing for our soul to know we have what to be thankful for.

And to be able to acknowledge who we should thank for what we have.

Not just for the things but for what is truly important.

Life, love, joy and the people who make us feel alive, loved and happy.

There are many bloggers doing gratitude posts.

People in Facebook are posting five day challenges of thankfulness.

We fill notebooks with things we are thankful for.

What does it do to me to be grateful?

Is my gratitude silent or do I remember to give thanks?

Why don't the names of Buddha, Mohammed, Confucius offend people? - (Not So) Wordless Wednesday

“Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies;’”

John 11:25

“Why don't the names of Buddha, Mohammed, Confucius offend people? The reason is that these others didn't claim to be God, but Jesus did.”

Imagine - October 14th

Imagination is more important than knowledge.
Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.
-Albert Einstein

The world is filled with knowledge and information.

We are filled with things happening around the globes.

We know the lives of people living on the other side of the world.

But what do we do with the information?

Do we digest it and then bury it somewhere,

So we can concentrate in the new information bombarding us?

Do we need to know it all?

Before we can create something new?

What is imagination and how can we learn to use it?

To Be Truly Me - October 13th

By a Carpenter mankind was made, and only by that Carpenter can mankind be remade.
Desiderius Erasmus

We were made in image of God.

Part of His divine nature.

We have the thumbprint of Jesus in our souls.

Who we are, is in relationship to Him.

Connected to Him, we can be truly who we are.

Without Him, we will always be incomplete.

Lost, not found, without reason, not knowing which way to choose.

To be truly me, is to have God in me.
