Let Your Word That You Promised Come True - Prayer Monday

Is it correct to ask for God to fulfill His promises?

King Solomon appealed to God to be faithful to the promises He had made to his father, King David.

“O Lord, God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven on or earth – you who keep your covenant of love with your servants who continue wholeheartedly in your way… Now Lord, God of Israel, keep for your servant David my father the promises you made to him when you said, “you shall never fail to have a man to sit before me on the throne of Israel, if only your sons are careful in all they do to walk before me according to my law as you have done.” And now, O Lord, God of Israel, let your word that you promised your servant David come true’.”

2 Chron. 6:14-17

There are many people who claim that we can pray anything our heart desires.

And God will give it to us if we just believe.

Because He promised to do it.

But do we really understand what God promised to us?

There are specific promises that God has made to us.

To prepare us a good future, to keep us with Him always.

But is it the same as our hearts desires?

If we truly love God, shouldn’t we search His heart’s desire in our prayer.

"Dear God, I ask You to keep your promises to me. I will always need Your love, Your holiness, Your forgiveness and Your patience. I will also always need Your mercy. But I know there is even more for me. Give me all the Your heart desires, even when it hurts. I just ask You’ll be there with me, and that You will be gentle with me. Amen.”
