Let the silence fill you with peace.
God can speak to us in the storm or in the earthquake.
But I think His voice is the strongest in the silence.
And our hearts are more open to listen to Him.
This Friday I wanted to share with you something beautiful I found out about when I was in High School.
Chanting is a very old practice, not only among Christian, but it can be found in many cultures around the globe.
For me Gregorian Chant and other forms of mediaval Chant, like Cisternian Chant, have always been an eerily beautiful and majestic form of worship.
12After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. 1 Kings 19:12 (NIV) |
I think it is a way, we humans, can use to describe the huricane and gentle winds of God's speech to us.
Human voice has power and in chant it is not hidden or silenced by the musical instruments.
We are left only with the voice and the words.
Very stoic and still so rich.
Personally, for me, it is easier to calm down and be able to listen to God with the help of chanting.
I hope you will find these chants as beautiful as I have found them and will be able to enjoy them.
5.
4. Gregorian Chant - Te Deum (You God)
3. Chants Gregoriens Moines Abbaye de SolesmesGregorians monks singing in the Abbey of Solesmes)

1. Cistercian chant – Testamentum Eternum (Eternal Covenant)
And a bonus of 2+ hours of Greek Orthodox Christian Chanting with geourgeous backgrounds.
I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did.
And I hope God will bless you and fill your heart with peace.
